Sanders BBQ Supply Makes NYTs Top Restaurant List And Will Expand To Hyde Park

Chicago, ILLocal News

Chef James Sanders confirmed plans for a new location, Sanders BBQ Prime, set to open in Hyde Park in early 2026. This expansion follows the recognition of his original restaurant, Sanders BBQ Supply, as one of the 50 best eateries in the nation by The New York Times. The Hyde Park venue will feature an elevated menu with options like appetizers, steaks, plated dinners, and desserts, along with complimentary beef tallow smoked popcorn. Sanders BBQ Supply, which opened in June 2024, fuses regional barbecue styles, including rib tips and Texas-style brisket. The new restaurant will take over the former ground-floor space of the Promontory, which has been vacant since its closure in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to his barbecue ventures, Sanders founded Fuze Catering, which was selected as one of the vendors for the Obama Presidential Center’s Home Court facility. The announcement of the new location adds to the excitement surrounding Chicago's dining scene. As Sanders prepares for the opening, he remains focused on delivering a unique dining experience to Hyde Park.
