Yo ho ho! And a treasure chest o 38,000 raised for Highline Heritage Museum at Pirate-themed fundraiser

The Highline Heritage Museum raised about $38,000 during its June 8, 2025, pirate-themed fundraiser at the Normandy Park Community Center, known as "The Cove. " The event brought together over 30 local organizations, including Highline Public Schools and the Port of Seattle, for a day of festivities featuring costumed guests and a spirited auction. Larry Snyder hosted the auction, which included donations from renowned local institutions like the Burke Museum and Chihuly Garden and Glass. Principal Clint Sallee's keynote address focused on the significance of Highline High's 100th anniversary to the community. Attendees participated in activities such as live sea shanties, a Dessert Dash, and a sword fight demonstration.

The funds raised will support educational programs and local history initiatives, with organizers conveying heartfelt thanks for community support. The event also showcased the involvement of Silver and Bronze Sponsors, highlighting local business contributions. This collaborative effort underscores the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage.
