UPDATE 16-year-old dies at scene after shooting in Burien home Friday

A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot inside a home in Burien on June 20, 2025. King County Sheriff's Office confirmed the shooting occurred around 5:03 p. m. , prompting a swift response from deputies and medics. Upon arrival, first responders found the teen with gunshot wounds and attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The major crimes team is conducting an investigation, with no suspects currently in custody. Authorities reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat in the area. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release further details regarding the victim's identity and cause of death.
