Burien, WALocal News

Walk with a Doc will host its next event on February 8 at 11 AM in Burien Town Square Park. Participants will learn about the nutritional value of whole foods and fiber, which are often diminished in processed foods and linked to chronic diseases. Dr. Dane Nimako will lead a brief educational talk before the group walks to Lake Burien Park. Interested individuals can register online for notifications about future walks.

This initiative encourages healthy lifestyles through community engagement and professional health education. Walking, according to the American Heart Association, has the lowest dropout rate among physical activities and is suitable for various fitness levels. The program, founded in Columbus, OH, has grown worldwide, focusing on accessible health education outside traditional clinical settings. Walk with a Doc aims to inspire communities to take active steps toward better health.
