Hormone Walk at Junes Walk with a Doc this Saturday, June 15

Burien, WALocal News

WABI Burien's "Walk with a Doc" will take place on June 15, 2024, at Burien Town Square Park, beginning at 11 a. m. Dr. Dane Nimako, a family physician, will discuss testosterone and estrogen, two hormones that significantly impact health and societal perceptions of gender. He will clarify misconceptions, such as the idea that testosterone leads to male aggression and estrogen causes emotional responses in women.

The discussion will highlight the relationship between these hormones and gender identity, stressing that biological factors are not the only influences on gender. Additionally, the event promotes the numerous health benefits of walking, which include reduced risks of heart disease and improved mental well-being. Attendees can also enter a sweepstakes for On Shoes, with sign-up available on-site. This event coincides with Pride month, aiming to encourage open conversations about gender and health. Dr.

Nimako invites participants to ask questions and engage with the topic further.
