Artists invited to exhibit in City of Buriens 2026 Gallery Program

Burien, WALocal News

The City of Burien invites artists from Washington state to apply for its 2026 Gallery Program, which aims to highlight local creativity in community spaces. Applications must be submitted by 5 p. m. on August 22, 2025, and selected artists will exhibit their work for four months at various locations, including the Burien Community Center and Maverick Apartments. Stipends range from $50 to $250, depending on the exhibit location and length.

Artists may submit either 2D or 3D works, tailored to the venue’s specifications. Responsibility for transporting, installing, and removing artwork falls on the artists, while the city provides promotional support without insurance coverage. The exhibit at the Burien Community Center will feature a two-month display, while the Maverick Apartments offers a unique window space ideal for installations. Artists are encouraged to visit the exhibit spaces before applying, and applications must be complete to be considered. Notifications for accepted submissions will be sent by mid-October.
