Curious Creatures Summer Reading Program launch party at the Burien Library will be this Friday, June 13

The King County Library System will launch the Curious Creatures Summer Reading Program with a party on June 13, 2025, at the Burien Library. Executive Director Heidi Daniel and Mayor Kevin Schilling will be present to hand out prizes. Attendees can enjoy interactive games, arts and crafts, and a photo booth, while signing up for the program aimed at youth ages 17 and under. The initiative encourages reading by allowing participants to set their own goals and earn finisher prizes by August 31. Among the rewards are Seattle Storm ticket vouchers and various library-themed merchandise.

Readers who complete their goals may also enter a drawing for one of 50 Kobo Clara Color eReaders, enhancing the appeal of the program. The Curious Creatures program runs from June 7 to August 31, 2025, aiming to engage the community in literacy activities.
