Burien, WALocal News

Nightly right lane closures on southbound SR 99 are scheduled from June 1 to June 5, 2025, affecting a stretch between South 200th Street in SeaTac and SR 516 in Des Moines from 10 p. m. to 5 a. m. South 226th Street in Des Moines will close at its intersection with southbound SR 99 from June 1-3.

On June 3, South 216th Street in SeaTac will close at both northbound and southbound SR 99 intersections. The following night, South 208th Street in SeaTac will also close at its intersection with southbound SR 99. Signed detours will be in place to assist drivers navigating these closures. This work is part of a broader initiative to upgrade sidewalk ramps along a 2-mile corridor to meet modern ADA standards. Starting in June, crews will begin repaving all lanes in this area, further enhancing safety and accessibility.

These improvements are crucial for ensuring compliance with federal regulations and improving pedestrian access.
