Steve Huff, a trailblazing racer and electric dragster innovator, passed away on May 21, 2025, at 58, surrounded by family and friends. Over his 30-year career, he set more than 20 national and world speed records, including the groundbreaking 200 mph electric dragster in 2020. Despite a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis in 2020, Huff remained determined and active, calling 2022 his best year after achieving the APBA National Hydroplane Championship. The City of SeaTac recognized his contributions by declaring September 22nd as Steve Huff Motorsports Day in 2020.

His legacy includes not just racing achievements but also mentorship of young people, encouraging them to embrace their unique talents. “In the years since my cancer diagnosis, I finally became ‘the man I always wanted to be,’” he expressed. He is remembered by a community of racers and dreamers who will continue to honor his impact.
