Detectives from the King County Sheriff’s Office noticed several known gang members and observed one male with a firearm, prompting them to call for backup. Officers detained the suspect without incident and recovered a privately made firearm that lacked a serial number. A subsequent test fire confirmed the weapon was operational. Authorities stated the action reflects ongoing efforts to remove illegal firearms from the community.
