One person hospitalized for smoke inhalation after house fire in Burien Sunday morning

A residential fire in Burien on Sunday morning resulted in one man being hospitalized for suspected smoke inhalation. At around 6:04 a. m. , a man flagged down a Burien Police deputy to report that his home was ablaze. Firefighters responded promptly, rescuing another male who was still inside the residence, and he was reported to be unharmed.

The man who initially alerted authorities was transported to St. Anne Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. According to local residents, the house was previously a wedding chapel, adding historical significance to the incident. The extent of the damage and cause of the fire are under investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigators. Authorities have not released further details on the condition of the hospitalized individual.

This incident highlights the ongoing need for fire safety awareness in residential areas.
