St. Francis of Assisi’s Life, Peace, and Justice Committee will host a free educational event for children on May 18, 2025, from 11 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.

The event will occur on the lawn outside the kindergarten space at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Burien. It will focus on the salmon lifecycle and the importance of protecting local waterways, featuring educators from the Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery. The program is specifically designed for elementary-aged students and will illustrate how human actions affect salmon habitats and the environment. Organizers state that the theme connects April Earth Day efforts to the broader call to care for all creation.

The event is free and open to the public, with easy parking available for attendees. For more information, participants can email stfoa. ljp@gmail. com. This initiative highlights the community's commitment to environmental education and conservation.
