One withdraws from Burien City Council race as King County Elections releases final 2023 Primary Election lineup

John White has officially withdrawn from the Burien City Council race for Position No. 4, as confirmed by King County Elections on May 22, 2023. The final list of candidates for the Aug. 1 Primary ballot has been released, with only the top two vote-getters for each position advancing to the Nov. 7 General Election.

If there are two or fewer candidates for a position, they will proceed directly to the General Election. The ballot includes candidates for multiple positions, such as the Metropolitan King County Council and various Highline School District director roles. Local governance will be significantly influenced by the outcomes of these elections, which cover vital community leadership roles.
