King County Elections certified the Aug. 1 Primary results for Burien City Council on Aug. 15, 2023. Linda Akey led with 31. 88% of the votes for Position No.

2, followed closely by Cydney Moore with 28. 29%. For Position No. 4, Kevin J. Schilling won decisively with 55.

74%, while Patricia Hudson received 31. 87%. The General Election on Nov. 7 will also include Krystal Marx and Alex Andrade competing for Position No. 6.

This position did not require a primary election due to only two candidates participating. Voter turnout for this primary was 31. 08%, reflecting 9,181 ballots counted from a total of 29,539 registered voters in Burien. The results indicate a competitive landscape ahead for the General Election, with candidates vying for critical council positions. Voters can expect to see the full list of candidates available online by Sept.
