Three Highline Public Schools recognized for achievement or growth

Three Highline Public Schools received state recognition for their academic performance in the 2022-23 school year. CHOICE Academy and Raisbeck Aviation High School earned honors for overall achievement, while North Hill Elementary School was recognized for growth among one or more student groups. Superintendent Ivan Duran praised the dedication of students and staff at these institutions, saying, “Congratulations to everyone involved for their outstanding efforts and success. ” The state program also recognized CHOICE, North Hill, and Raisbeck for their achievements in the 2021-22 school year. Additionally, Beverly Park and Cedarhurst elementary schools were acknowledged for student growth in the previous year.

Recognized schools will receive a banner from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction to display in their facilities. This recognition program aims to highlight schools that excel in closing opportunity gaps and improving student performance. The partnership includes the State Board of Education and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee.
