The inaugural ‘Mrs. Roper Romp’ will enliven downtown Des Moines on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from Noon to 4 p. m. at Kaihana Sushi. This themed event invites the community to dress as Helen Roper, a beloved character from the sitcom Three’s Company.

Participants can check in at Kaihana before joining other attendees adorned in colorful outfits, curly wigs, and bold accessories. The event aims to foster community engagement by encouraging donations of non-perishable food for the Des Moines Food Bank, with a costume contest for those who contribute. The event draws inspiration from similar gatherings, such as a recent “Roper Romp” in White Center, showcasing its potential for local community building.
