Dust off your kaftans and get groovy for Des Moines inaugural Mrs. Roper Romp this coming Saturday, May 10

Burien, WALocal News

The inaugural ‘Mrs. Roper Romp’ will enliven downtown Des Moines on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from Noon to 4 p. m. at Kaihana Sushi. This themed event invites the community to dress as Helen Roper, a beloved character from the sitcom Three’s Company.

Participants can check in at Kaihana before joining other attendees adorned in colorful outfits, curly wigs, and bold accessories. The event aims to foster community engagement by encouraging donations of non-perishable food for the Des Moines Food Bank, with a costume contest for those who contribute. The celebration culminates with “Roper Romp Karaoke” starting at 4 p. m. , providing a fun outlet for participants.

The event draws inspiration from similar gatherings, such as a recent “Roper Romp” in White Center, showcasing its potential for local community building. Attendees can expect a vibrant atmosphere and a chance to celebrate the spirit of the ‘70s while supporting a good cause. For further information, please visit the event's Facebook page.
