ELECTION RESULTS Crisis Care Centers Levy passing with 54.43 approval after first round of returns
King County Proposition No. 1 passed with 54. 43% approval in the special election on April 25, aimed at establishing a network of crisis care centers. The measure will raise $1. 25 billion through a nine-year property tax to fund various behavioral health services, including the construction of five walk-in crisis centers.
Voter turnout was recorded at 21. 35%, with 294,714 ballots counted from 1,380,642 registered voters. The successful proposition also encompasses mobile crisis care, post-discharge stabilization, and workforce supports, addressing critical needs in the community. This election featured only this proposition, highlighting its significance for local mental health services. The approval reflects a growing recognition of the importance of mental health care in King County.
