Burien, WALocal News

Highline Schools Foundation's Project PROMise will be held on April 19 and 20, 2024, at Highline High School, providing essential formal wear for students in need from Highline Public Schools. The initiative offers new and gently used dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories at no charge, promoting inclusivity for all genders. Students can sign up for personalized shopping appointments, ensuring a tailored experience with the guidance of personal shoppers. Volunteers play a vital role in making this event a success, assisting with various tasks such as set-up and personal shopping. Donations are encouraged to support the program, covering costs like dress cleaning and alterations.

Each spring, the event empowers students who might otherwise miss out on the prom experience due to financial constraints. The dresses are theirs to keep, or they may return them for future use. This community-driven effort highlights the importance of support and solidarity in fostering a positive environment for local youth.
