Power outage affects nearly 4,000 City Light customers in Burien Wednesday night

On April 16, 2025, a significant power outage impacted 3,757 Seattle City Light customers in Burien, starting around 8:04 p. m. The outage stretched from Gregory Heights in the south through Lake Burien and Downtown Burien to Boulevard Park, affecting numerous households and businesses. Seattle City Light is actively investigating the cause of this disruption, although specific details have yet to be disclosed. Restoration efforts are currently underway, with crews working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Power is expected to be reinstated by approximately 2:05 a. m. on April 17. In the meantime, the utility company urges customers to report any downed power lines or hazards they encounter. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by utility companies in maintaining reliable service.
