Burien and Normandy Park to host residential recycling event on Saturday, April 26

Burien, WALocal News

Burien and Normandy Park residents are invited to a residential recycling event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center.

This initiative aims to combat illegal dumping and promote responsible waste disposal by accepting a wide range of materials, including electronics, tires, and bulky wood. While some items incur processing fees, such as refrigerators and mattresses, others like electronics and TVs can be disposed of free of charge. Attendees must arrive in passenger vehicles, as larger vehicles will not be permitted, and all loads should be secured in compliance with state law. The event will not accept hazardous waste, cardboard, or clothing, and residents are encouraged to donate such items instead. Additionally, rain barrels, compost bins, and worm bins will be available for purchase at $25 each, cash-only.

For further details, residents can download the event brochure or contact Liz Wonder at the provided phone number. This event not only helps in proper waste management but also promotes community engagement in environmental sustainability.
