Suspect arrested across from Tukwila Police station after earlier fleeing from Burien P.D.

Burien, WALocal News

A man with an active warrant was arrested late Tuesday night, January 28, 2025, in Tukwila after leading police on a chase that concluded in a fast-food parking lot situated directly across from the police station. The incident began when an officer observed a suspicious vehicle near S. 164th Street and 42nd Ave S. , prompting the driver to accelerate away and disregard multiple stop signs. The vehicle was later tracked down by a K9 unit near Southcenter Boulevard and Tukwila International Boulevard, although an initial low-speed PIT maneuver failed to halt the suspect.

Ultimately, the driver entered the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot, where officers executed a successful PIT maneuver, forcing the vehicle to a stop. Police confirmed that the suspect was wanted for violating a domestic violence protection order and had previously evaded Burien Police. Authorities stated that the suspect's choice of location for a stop was ironic, given the proximity to the Tukwila Police Department. He was booked into jail on the existing warrant, with additional felony charges anticipated. This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding domestic violence and the challenges law enforcement faces in apprehending fugitives.
