Driver killed in Tukwila crash involving stolen car suspect arrested after manhunt

A tragic head-on collision occurred on April 2, 2025, in Tukwila, resulting in the death of one driver after a stolen vehicle struck his car. The accident happened near Tukwila International Boulevard and South 116th Street around 11 p. m. First responders arrived to find the victim critically injured, and he was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect fled the scene on foot, prompting a comprehensive search involving a K-9 unit, drone team, and the King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

After about 90 minutes, officers found the suspect hiding in dense brush, requiring the use of a chainsaw to access him. Despite ignoring commands and warnings from the K-9, he was ultimately apprehended. The suspect is facing charges of vehicular homicide, and the investigation is being handled by the Tukwila Police Department Traffic Unit. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding stolen vehicles and their role in dangerous traffic incidents.
