Driver dies after medical emergency leads to crash

A man died after suffering a medical emergency while driving, which culminated in a crash along Southcenter Parkway in Tukwila. Officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a single-vehicle collision in the 17100 block. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle had jumped the curb and struck a concrete planter, coming to rest on the sidewalk. The driver was discovered unresponsive with a significant leg injury. First responders applied a tourniquet to stem the bleeding, and he was promptly transported to a local hospital.

Sadly, despite these emergency efforts, the driver succumbed to his injuries. Investigators later confirmed that the crash resulted from the medical emergency while he was behind the wheel. No other vehicles were involved, underscoring the tragic nature of this incident.
