Charcoal crowned local Pooch Playoffs champion, advances to international Round

Burien, WALocal News

Charcoal, a local pup, has earned the title of 2025 King County champion in the popular Pooch Playoffs, a bracket-style online contest. This victory allows Charcoal to represent the region in the upcoming international finals, where he will face off against more than a dozen top dogs from across the U. S. and Canada. Voting for the final round takes place this Sunday, April 6, with the international winner to be announced on April 7.

Supporters are encouraged to vote and donate to help reach the event's fundraising goal of $4,000; currently, $2,080 has been raised. The funds will support animals in need, providing essential resources like food, shelter, and medical care. Organizers believe that if each voter contributes just $1, a substantial difference can be made. The Pooch Playoffs, hosted by Clover Laine Photography, combines a fun competition with a charitable cause, aiming to help pets awaiting their forever homes. This heartwarming event highlights the community's commitment to animal welfare while celebrating the joy that pets bring to our lives.
