Burien, WALocal News

Alimentando al Pueblo (AAP) is set to host the sixth annual Bidi Bidi Bom Bash, a festival honoring the legacy of the “Queen of Cumbia,” Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, from April 12 to April 19, 2025, in Burien. This intergenerational event emphasizes community-building through Latinx culture, food, and joy, featuring a diverse lineup of activities. The festival kicks off with a mercado on April 12, offering workshops, live art, and local vendors, followed by a drag brunch on April 13 hosted by local artist Isabella de la Rosa. The celebration culminates in a 21+ night market on April 19 with BIPOC vendors and performances. AAP's Executive Director, Roxana Pardo-Garcia, highlights the festival's evolution into a cultural movement for the Pacific Northwest community.

Since its inception, Bidi Bidi Bom Bash has raised over $30,000 for local nonprofits, reinforcing its commitment to community support. Attendees are encouraged to participate through ticket purchases, volunteering, or donating. Masks are required for all indoor events when not eating or drinking, ensuring a safe environment for all participants.
