Im Running! Dow Constantine tells The B-Town Blog

Burien, WALocal News

Dow Constantine has made his candidacy for King County Executive official in an interview with The B-Town Blog, marking an important step in his political career. Serving on the Metropolitan King County Council since 2002 and recently elected as Council Chair, he is well-positioned for this role. In light of Ron Sims' potential nomination to the Obama administration, Constantine emphasizes the urgency of selecting an interim executive who possesses managerial and political skills without personal ambitions. He is particularly focused on the challenging budget that lies ahead, acknowledging the significant impact of current economic conditions on local governance. Constantine takes pride in Burien's recent growth, having played a role in the funding of the Burien Transit Center through a successful Sound Transit ballot measure.

He believes that Burien and White Center can serve as models for regional development, especially regarding future light rail expansion. As the campaign unfolds, he promises to engage more deeply with constituents through interviews. Fellow Council member Larry Phillips remains the only other candidate in the race, setting the stage for a competitive election.
