Teen Police Academy returns July 14-18, offers hands-on look at law enforcement - The B-Town (Burien) Blog

The SeaTac and Burien Police Departments, in collaboration with the King County Sheriff’s Office, are excited to announce the upcoming Teen Police Academy, a free educational program for local teens. Running from July 14–18, 2025, the academy will be held daily from 8:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.

at SeaTac City Hall. This program is specifically designed for teens aged 14 to 17 who either live in or attend school in SeaTac or Burien. Participants will delve into critical law enforcement topics, including patrol procedures, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) operations, and the intricacies of 911 systems. This hands-on approach not only educates youth about the responsibilities of public safety but also encourages them to consider future careers in law enforcement. Transportation will be provided for all field trips, ensuring accessibility for all participants, although they are required to bring their own lunch.

This initiative aims to enhance community engagement and foster positive relationships between youth and local law enforcement. It represents a significant investment in the future of public safety and community collaboration.
