The "March to Melt Ice" rally, set for April 5, 2025, in SeaTac, is organized by a coalition of labor unions, civil rights groups, and community organizations, led by OWLS. This event aims to protest against federal policies that have detrimental effects on immigrant rights, public education, and federal workers. Beginning at Noon at Angle Lake Park, participants will march to the Federal Detention Center, emphasizing the plight of undocumented immigrants. Organizers have cited numerous actions by the Trump administration, including the executive order to abolish the Department of Education and the mass firing of federal workers, as catalysts for this protest. The rally has garnered support from various endorsing organizations, including the Seattle Rideshare Drivers Association and the Freedom Socialist Party.

Speakers from these organizations will address the crowd, shedding light on the urgent issues facing working-class individuals. SeaTac Mayor Mohamed Egal has also publicly endorsed the rally, further emphasizing its local significance. This gathering aims not only to protest but to mobilize community action for a more equitable future.
