The event was organized by Peggy Cummings and began with a land acknowledgment and welcoming remarks from Charlotte Williams, highlighting the importance of community storytelling. Notable storytellers included Penny Tetter, who reminisced about her childhood ducks, and Don West, who humorously recounted a camping experience involving a mistaken rattlesnake. Gretchen Douma shared her insights into the intelligence of poodle mixes, emphasizing the unique bonds they form with their humans. Stephen Scheurich capped the night with a thrilling account of a misfired tranquilizer dart and a mountain lion encounter, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats.
