Burien Library will celebrate Da with free kids books, bilingual story time and paletas on Saturday, April 26

The Burien Library is set to host a vibrant Día celebration on April 26, 2025, from 11:30 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. , inviting families to engage in a day of cultural exploration and literacy.

The event features bilingual story times led by Jaime Méndez, allowing children to enjoy stories in both Spanish and English. In addition, attendees can participate in crafts and enjoy live mariachi performances, enhancing the festive atmosphere. A highlight of the day will be a selection of free children's books available in over twenty languages, encouraging kids to explore diverse cultures through literature. This initiative is part of a broader celebration established in 1996 by author Pat Mora, aimed at fostering a love for reading among children and their families. The King County Library System, which supports the Burien Library, serves approximately 1.
