Neighborhood Grants Support Community Projects

Burien, WALocal News

The City of Burien has introduced a neighborhood grants program to strengthen community ties and support local improvement projects. With grants up to $5,000 available, the initiative aims to foster equity and participation among residents. To qualify, community members must match the grant with local resources, which can include volunteer labor, donated materials, or cash contributions. Projects must be completed by the end of 2023 and should align with specific criteria established by the city. A Neighborhood Project Coordinator will be required for each project to ensure effective communication with city officials.

Applications will be evaluated based on several factors, including the project's quality, visibility, and the extent of neighborhood participation. This program not only incentivizes community engagement but also encourages the development of meaningful connections among residents. For more information, residents can visit the city’s website, which includes resources in Spanish and Vietnamese.
