Burien, WALocal News

The City of Burien is actively seeking artists from Washington State to participate in the 2025 Burien Gallery Program, which aims to enrich the local cultural landscape. Artists can exhibit their work in three unique spaces: the Burien Community Center, The Maverick Apartments, and Merrill Garden Senior Living, each offering different stipends and exhibit durations. The Burien Community Center's lobby wall is designated for two-dimensional artwork, while both The Maverick and Merrill Garden spaces accommodate three-dimensional installations. Artists must submit their applications by 5 p. m.

on August 23, 2024, and those selected will be notified by early October. The program encourages artists to familiarize themselves with the exhibition spaces before applying, ensuring a better fit for their work. Additionally, while wall tags and promotional support are provided, artists will need to handle the transportation and installation of their pieces. This initiative not only supports local talent but also aims to enhance community engagement through art. Interested artists can access the application form and further details via the City of Burien's website.
