Green Burien Partnership Hosts Fall 2024 Events

Burien, WALocal News

As the planting season begins in the Pacific Northwest, the Green Burien Partnership invites the community to join in a series of environmental restoration events this fall. These events are designed to be family-friendly and accessible, with no prior experience required. Participants will receive refreshments, gloves, and tools, ensuring a supportive environment for all volunteers. The highlight of the season is Green Burien Day on October 19, 2024, where attendees can enjoy live music while planting baby trees and shrubs at Hilltop Park. Following this, on October 24, volunteers can help plant indigenous plants at Hazel Valley Park.

There are also opportunities on November 9 at Miller Creek Trail and Salmon Creek Ravine, focusing on planting native species. The Green Burien Partnership emphasizes community involvement in enhancing local parks and promoting environmental stewardship. More planting events are expected in November and December, with details available on their website.
