In a heartfelt social media post, George referred to him as her “personal superhero” and shared her grief, stating, “I miss this man every day. ” Known for his kindness and infectious smile, Doug was a beloved member of the “Team Clean Sweep” crew, dedicated to maintaining a clean environment in Downtown Burien. His passion for life included a love for old TV shows, animals, and a genuine desire to help others.

To commemorate his legacy, a custom-made Superman-themed bench will be unveiled on April 2, 2025, symbolizing the superhero role he played in the lives of those who knew him. As the community continues to mourn his loss, updates regarding the memorial event will be shared, allowing residents to pay their respects.
