Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center hosting Princess Angeline Tea on Saturday, April 5
The Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center is set to honor Princess Angeline, the eldest daughter of Chief Seattle, with a special afternoon tea on April 5, from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. This event, catered by The Red Tea Room, promises a delightful experience featuring English-style tea sandwiches, petit fours, and a selection of native and English teas.
Tami Hohn, an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Washington and a member of the Puyallup Tribe, will share insights during the gathering. A significant aspect of this event is its commitment to social issues, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women initiative through the Women Spirit Coalition. The organizers highlight the event as a celebration of Duwamish culture and a chance for community connection. Limited seating is available, requiring advance ticket purchase to ensure participation. The proceeds will also support the ongoing cultural programs at the Duwamish Longhouse, emphasizing the importance of preserving and sharing Duwamish heritage.
Attendees are encouraged to partake in this meaningful gathering, combining delicious food with a vital cause.
