The Burien Police Department and King County Sheriff's Office Special Emphasis Team successfully arrested two suspected drug traffickers in a narcotics investigation that concluded on March 19, 2025. The operation led to the seizure of 1. 1 pounds of cocaine, with a street value of $50,000, alongside a recovered handgun and $1,000 in drug proceeds. Both suspects face serious charges, including conspiracy and intent to distribute, with one also charged for unlawful possession of a firearm. One suspect's prior arrest in 2022 raises concerns about repeat offenses in the area.

Police highlighted the critical role of their top K9, Quinn, in the operation's success. Officials expressed gratitude towards the Special Emphasis Team from Precinct 5, along with deputies from Precinct 2 and a forensics detective, emphasizing the collaborative effort in tackling drug trafficking.
