The Highline School Board is preparing to interview candidates for two open board seats on March 15, 2025. For District 4, the finalists are Damarys Espinoza and Kenneth Kemp, as Carlos Ruiz has withdrawn from consideration. In District 5, Megan Demeroutis and Blaine Holien will be interviewed after the board reopened applications due to prior withdrawals. The public can engage with this process as the interviews will be livestreamed, promoting transparency and community involvement. Following the interviews, the School Board intends to vote on the new members during its March 19 meeting.

The selected members will take their oaths of office at a later date, serving until the next election cycle in November 2025. New appointees are expected to actively participate in all board meetings, ensuring they are fully engaged in their roles. This process highlights the board's commitment to diverse perspectives and community representation in educational governance.
