King County's free community repair event will take place on March 19, 2025, in the multipurpose room at Burien City Hall/Library from 3 to 6 p. m. Sponsored by the King County Repair Events Program, this initiative aims to foster community engagement and promote sustainability by helping residents repair various small household items. Volunteers, referred to as "fixers," will assist with items such as electronics, toys, tools, and textiles, emphasizing the importance of mending over discarding. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing participants to bring one item for repair initially.

After assisting everyone with their first items, fixers will address second items if time permits. Those unsure about the suitability of their items can reach out to event coordinator Tom via email or phone for guidance. This program has successfully held 87 repair events since its inception in 2016, highlighting its positive impact on the community. Attendees can also find additional details on the King County Repair Events webpage.
