" She expressed her daily grief and highlighted the profound impact Doug had on her life as her caregiver for 28 years. Doug was also known for his role in the "Team Clean Sweep" initiative, where he worked to keep Downtown Burien clean and inviting.

To commemorate his legacy, a Superman-themed bench will be unveiled on April 2, 2025, symbolizing his superhero-like spirit in the community. As Burien residents continue to reflect on his life, they remember him as a kind-hearted individual who had a lasting influence on many. The community's collective mourning is matched by their gratitude for the joy Doug brought into their lives.
