Doug was also known for his role in the "Team Clean Sweep" initiative, where he worked to keep Downtown Burien clean and inviting.

To commemorate his legacy, a Superman-themed bench will be unveiled on April 2, 2025, symbolizing his superhero-like spirit in the community.
