On March 7, 2025, a tragic accident on northbound I-5 near SR 599 in Tukwila resulted in multiple lane closures and a significant impact on local traffic. The Washington State Patrol has confirmed that this individual has been taken into custody for Felony Hit and Run and will be booked into jail once medically cleared. Emergency crews, including Puget Sound Fire and King County Medic One, quickly arrived to manage the situation and provide assistance. As of now, only the right lane remains open on northbound I-5, with traffic delays stretching approximately four miles.
