The City of Burien, in collaboration with the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, is launching a paid summer internship aimed at equipping local youth with essential digital marketing skills. This initiative supports the ShopLocalBurien. com platform, which serves as an online marketplace for Burien businesses. Over four weeks, from August 8 to August 31, 2022, interns will learn to create and manage social media profiles on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. They will also gain experience in copywriting, social media strategy, and brand development, which are critical in today’s digital economy.

Each intern will receive a stipend of $500, which not only supports their participation but also enhances their resumes with practical experience. Applications are open until August 7, 2022, providing a timely opportunity for interested students to advance their career pathways in social media marketing. This program not only fosters youth engagement but also promotes local businesses, showcasing the importance of community support. Interested candidates can apply through the Urban League’s website, ensuring they do not miss out on this unique opportunity.
