The Burien City Council will hold a regular meeting on February 24, 2025, focusing on essential local issues such as housing policy, public safety measures, and economic development initiatives. Set to begin at 5:30 p. m. , the meeting allows residents to participate in person at Burien City Hall or through Comcast TV, Zoom, and livestream options. A key item on the agenda is a proposed Housing Code and Map Amendment, integral to the Burien 2044 Comprehensive Plan, aimed at increasing housing availability while addressing displacement concerns.

The council will also discuss the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan, which follows the 2024 Transportation Master Plan, emphasizing traffic safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists. Ordinance No. 797, concerning parking enforcement changes requested by the King County Sheriff’s Office, will be voted on, enhancing law enforcement's ability to regulate parking in the city. Additionally, the council will consider Resolution No. 514, which allocates funding for affordable housing projects through the South King Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) Housing Capital Fund.

Public participation is encouraged, with comments allowed before the council's discussions, highlighting the meeting's importance in fostering community involvement. With simultaneous Spanish interpretation available, the council aims to ensure accessibility for all residents.
