REMINDER The flirty fun of BAT Theatres Beginning continues this weekend

Burien, WALocal News

The Burien Actors Theatre is hosting the U. S. premiere of "Beginning," a thought-provoking play by David Eldridge, at Kennedy Catholic High’s Little Theatre through March 9, 2025. The story is set in London in late autumn 2015 and revolves around Laura and Danny, two lonely individuals who find themselves in a complex interplay of attraction and vulnerability after a housewarming party. With just two characters and a 100-minute runtime, the success of the play hinges on the dynamic performances of Lucy Pearce and Gerald Germajesty Price.

Pearce's Laura is depicted as a successful woman navigating her desires with humor and grace, while Price's Danny embodies a relatable mix of charisma and insecurity. Their interactions highlight the emotional struggles of middle-aged individuals confronting their past disappointments and the possibility of new connections. The production captures the essence of human connection, emphasizing that true relationships are often forged through courage and vulnerability. "Beginning" not only entertains but also invites the audience to reflect on their own experiences with love and loneliness. The play runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.

m. and Sundays at 2 p. m. , with tickets available for upcoming performances.
