1 in custody after I-5 shooting in South Seattle

Burien, WALocal News

A shooting on southbound Interstate 5 in South Seattle has led to one individual being taken into custody, according to reports from the Washington State Patrol (WSP). The incident unfolded Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle's window was shot out near South Columbian Way, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. In a dramatic turn of events, the victim chased the suspect, resulting in a crash near Boeing Field. The right lane of the highway was initially closed to traffic, causing significant delays that extended up to five miles. Compounding the traffic issues, a vehicle fire in SeaTac occurred shortly after the shooting, leading to multiple lane closures on I-5.

The WSP is actively investigating the incident, gathering information from witnesses and involved parties. This situation highlights ongoing concerns about safety on major highways in the region. Local residents and commuters are advised to stay alert as authorities manage the aftermath of these incidents.
