Burien's Initiative 1, which seeks to raise the minimum wage to $21. 10 per hour, continues to show strong support in the latest election results. As of February 13, 2025, 55. 55% of voters have cast their ballots in favor of the measure, with 3,829 votes supporting it. This marks a steady increase in support, as the initiative had only 54.

33% approval in the first round of results. With 6,898 ballots counted, representing 22. 88% of Burien’s 30,146 registered voters, the outcome appears increasingly favorable. The initiative also includes provisions requiring employers to offer additional hours to part-time employees before seeking new hires. King County Elections will finalize the results by February 24, with ongoing ballot processing expected to further influence the count.
