Highline Public Schools seeking members for Family Action Committee

Highline Public Schools is currently inviting applications for the Superintendent’s Family Action Committee, aimed at bolstering family engagement within the district. The committee will select up to 40 family members to provide essential feedback on policies and help maintain accountability among staff. Members will be expected to commit up to six hours a month for meetings and subcommittees, with terms lasting two years starting this fall. Superintendent Ivan Duran highlighted that family perspectives are crucial for a stronger school district. The committee aims to include representatives from all schools, ensuring a reflection of the community's diversity.

Interested families can learn more and submit applications through the Highline website. The first meeting for the 2025-26 school year is set for October 27. This initiative underscores the district’s commitment to engaging families in its strategic planning and policies.
