The Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce’s SEA Airport Luncheon on September 19 featured discussions on airport upgrades and economic stability. Port Executive Director Steve Metruck reported that the facility generated 175,000 jobs and $33 billion in business output in 2023, emphasizing its economic significance. He detailed several construction projects designed to enhance traveler experiences, including a new C Concourse expansion targeted for 2026. Metruck also noted the ongoing challenges of federal policies and inflation affecting operations.

The port aims to be the greenest in North America and plans to incorporate sustainable aviation fuel by 2028. Attendees underscored the importance of predictability in the market to encourage business investment.
