Burien Brat Trot and Oktoberfest return Saturday, Oct. 4 with races, brats, and brews

The Burien Brat Trot will celebrate its 16th year on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, featuring a 5k fun run and a Kids 1k in Downtown Burien. The 5k begins at 10 a. m. , followed by the Kids 1k at 11 a.

m. , both routes being stroller-friendly and accommodating dogs on leashes. Participants can enjoy post-race festivities, including awards, a raffle for Alaska Airlines tickets, and medals for all finishers. The adult team with the most runners will win a $500 party at Burien Pizzeria, while local schools can earn $500 for the most affiliated runners. Fred Swanson, Executive Director of the Highline Schools Foundation, highlighted the importance of community support for this beloved event.

The foundation utilizes funds raised to provide essential resources like school supplies and innovative learning opportunities. The after-party will feature games, sponsor booths, and food, with a beer garden for adults. Registration for the event is open, and numerous sponsors are supporting the initiative.
