Lane and ramp closures on I-5, SR 516, and SR 509 in south King County will continue through the morning of Monday, Oct. 6, affecting Burien, Des Moines, SeaTac, and Kent. This work is part of the SR 509 Completion Project, which includes road striping, signage installation, and paving. From Sept. 29 to Oct.

3, significant overnight closures will take place, including up to two lanes closing on southbound I-5. Specific ramp closures will also occur, along with detours to guide drivers. The project aims to construct a new tolled highway spanning three miles between I-5 and South 188th Street, enhancing access to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. This initiative is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area. Motorists are encouraged to check for updates and plan their routes accordingly.

The completion of this project will be phased, with the first stage focusing on the segment between I-5 and 24th Avenue.
