Police arrest suspected some stupid with a flare gun and homemade shotgun in Burien on 4th of July

A man was arrested in Burien on July 4, 2023, after police discovered he was carrying a flare gun and a homemade shotgun. During a routine patrol at approximately 10 p. m. , deputies from the Burien Police/King County Sheriff’s Office encountered the suspect holding a 26. 5mm flare gun, which could have caused serious damage.

The deputies also found a "versatile contraption" that could convert into a short-barreled shotgun, capable of firing both pistol and shotgun rounds. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about firearm safety and regulation in the community. The suspect was booked into King County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm. Authorities continue to investigate the case to determine the full extent of the situation. This incident raises questions about public safety, especially during holiday celebrations.

The possession of such weapons could lead to severe consequences if not properly regulated.
